Yeah I have watched Eurovision contest 2011, so what?

More than 1100 songs have been performed in the history of Eurovision. This year, great show and hosting from Dusseldorf presented by Anke Engelke, Judith Rakers and Stefan Raab with a big budget. Anke as funny as usual (I used to watch her show when I lived in Germany), same for Raab, he even played the guitar and sang last year winning song(if i remember well he represented Germany once in Eurovision years ago..).

Almost 2 hours of performances with 25 countries.

Eurovision has gone mad! Most of the countries sang in English: Finland, Bosnia and Herzegovina ,Russia,Germany,Romania, Austria, Azerbaijan , Stonia (I liked this song),Slovenia (a bit rockish style, too),Iceland,Denmark, Georgia, Ukrania ,Sweden,Switzerland, Moldovia ,Hungary... The French sang in Italian, Lithuanians sang in French and Italians sang in English, too. What's going on Europe? What's up with the amount of different languages that we have? Shouldn't we use them and promote them in our own Eurovision contest?

Only Serbia, Spain and Greece sang in their own languages! Well done in this respect!

Brief comments on the performances, let's start with the first 3 classified:

The winner song is from Azerbaijan, to be honest i dont even know where it is..do you? the song didn't have any special for me and i kept thinking what was the song like since i didn't remember it! In my opinion Italy should have won, specially when they had Rafaella Carra for the votations! I haven't seen her for so long!! she still looks the same!

Italian jazz style song was very original but in my opinion they should have sang in Italian , which is a beautiful language! (second place!)

Swedish male singer very good looking but the song didn't convince me. (They got on third place!)

Greek sang in Greek but the song was horrible, however it got many votes (i wonder why??!!)

French guy sang very well but a horrible hair cut, he will not get a job as a hair gel TV advertiser.. and opera style is not really Eurovision material..

Russian singer looked like John travolta in Grease but in blonde, the song was catchy !

I loved U.k. song from consolidated band blue but I didnt like it on the Eurovision performance. The background while they were singing, a bit egocentric with their photos behind them. Hated the dresses and seeing themselves dancing in the screens again behind them ..uff

Moldova kind of ska song very original, loved the Simpson Marge hair style and the fairy with a trompet in pink although she was stealing a bit the protagonism of the singer lol

Slovenian's song was a bit Britney Spears/ Cristina Aguilera like ,she is very beautiful and has a strong voice but the song wasn't amazing..just o.k.. she still managed to get a good amount of points. I kept hearing Andres, "oh she is beautiful".

Lena, German singer very arrogant, didn't get the 5 dancers dressed like spermatozoids ! I'm glad she didn't win, specially due to the bad comments German tv made about Spanish song previous to the contest, o.k. it was crap but they are no-one to criticize it and their song was not that good as they thought, ad of course in English! Why they don't sing in German??!!! At least the Spanish singer sang in her own language, a crappy song but in Spanish lol.

Romanian group, hotel FM very pleasant song and looked like nice smiley guys.

I actually liked Stonia's song, too and they got very few votes, not sure if they were the last ones on the classification but close.

Who chose Austria's song to qualify..she is a cheap version of Witney Houston.. very boring..buu, her hair style looked as if she was wearing a helmet!

Spanish song, dont get the palm theme, horrible stupid song..gee, not surprise that we are in the 4 or 3 bottom countries (i stop looking at Spain classification at one point..)

Ukraine original performance with an artist drawing with sand diff siluettes .. beautiful! She reminded me of the Evanescence group. THey also got a lot of points! well done Ukraine!

Dannish rock style song, i didn't love it.. his hairstyle reminded me of my manager's, nothing bad about that, only a comment lol

The contest finished with Georgia's performance with kind of rock style song imitating Linkin Park, not my cup of tea to be honest... but the female singer was good.

Worse songs: Iceland, Greece, Spanish, Switzerland, Austria, Georgia and Serbia

Final votes:

Macedonia gave the first 4 points for SPain ,at that point i thought, o.k. at least we are not gonna have 0 points! and France gave Spain 12 points! (I was surprised about this..to be honest..
).

The voting was very exciting, Ireland even got to be on the 4th place at one point, polemical Irish twins: "Jedward", who ended up in the 8th place. It has been talked about disappointment for Ireland but I think They did very well, even if they have many detractors, no doubt that they passionate, energetic, committed and their vocals were not that bad, at all!. It was hard to tell who was going to win! At one point I thought it was going to be Denmark, then Ukraine and then Azerbaijan started to get many more points than the rest. You could also comment live on the Eurovision facebook page (very entertaining lol i know i'm a freak!) and it was funny to see what people around Europe said about the different songs lol.

Denmark and U.k.gave 12 points to Ireland (Ireland only gave 6 points to u.k. lol), Poland only gave 1 point to Ireland (I was surprised about this..) and of course Portugal gave Spain 12 points (Thanx Portugal, you are deaf! but thanx!).

It had been a very entertaining show ,i only hope next year Spain chooses better our representative.. maybe we should sing in English too?? lol!! just kidding!!

Some of my favorite moments in video:

Check out the energetic performance of the Irish twins John and Edward! Even when Ireland voted for other countries, the Irish host was wearing a Jedward "wig" lol, love Irish!!

Oscars 2011, humble review (winners and red carpet moments)

What do you think of the oscar winners?? I very much agree with Natalie's Portman oscar for the best actress (I hate her, she even looked beautiful in that violet dress with her 7-month pregnant belly!), I'm also delighted regarding Colin Firth's oscar and the Kings' speech and of course, even though Christian Bale was wearing a horrible beard, he truly deserved his oscar for his supporting actor role in the fighter!! Even though Geoffrey Rush also played an excellent role in the King's speech! Very glad for inception, as well, great movie !

I 'm a bit disappointed because "Biutiful" did not win the oscar for the best foreign film, it truly deserved it! and not sure either why "The Network" won any oscar at all..it's not a movie to win an oscar.., not sure about Melissa Leo's role in the Fighter.. (although i loved the movie, not her role particularly)I actually prefer Amy Adams' role in it! She should have won the oscar, then!

I can't finish without commenting on some Red Carpet moments: What about Gwyneth Paltrow's dress? She looked beautiful! Hally Barry wore one of my favorite dresses of the night! And What was that horrible dress that Kate Blanchet was wearing??!! And why Justin Timberlake came with his mum??!!! Mark Wahlberg looked small in camera and with a huge head.., I hated Mila Kunis' dress and Scarlett Johansson hair was a mess and her dress matched with the carpet..gee..but she is still beautiful..so who cares?? lol

Ok no more bitching for now.. and i'd rather go to sleep! good night!

In this link you can see some of the red carpet moments:

Glee Serie Recommendation for musical lovers and Attention they are on Tour! (in Dublin in July!)

Some of you may know already the famous U.s. series of Glee produced by FOX but for those who do not know it yet, I wanted to recommend it to you if you are a fan of musicals like me. Glee's first season started in June 2009. The young cast of Glee do their own version of current hits and old ones from the 80ies like for example : "it's my life" by Bon Jovi, " Hello" by Lionel Richie and famous hit of the series " don't stop believing". The series mix comedy and drama with music and dance. My favorite characters are the attractive teacher played by Morrison, Rachel (played by Lea michelle, the lead singer), Finn (Played by Cory M) , Kurt who played the gay student ( starred by Chris Colfer)and Mercedes with her impressive voice (played by Amber R.). Of course I have to mention the coach Sue Sylvester (played by Jane Lynch), she is so mean and funny!!! In the series they usually pay tribute to some pop icons like Madonna, Britney Spears, Rhianna and Lady Gaga, they put their own style! I personally liked a lot the episode in tribute to Madonna, you can see a short footage of their version of vogue in this video.

All the cast can really sing and and dance and the can prove that on a world tour they are doing at the moment where they sing the most famous hits of the series. I'm going to be lucky to see them live in Dublin this July at the O2! I still can't believe that I have found tickets! I'm a big fan of Glee and to me to see the real actors live singing in front to me ,it's going to be an experience!

The series have a web page where you can see videos and photos and of course you can find them on youtube, too.

The Secret Millionaire (TV reportage series -Channel 4)- A must see

I wanted to recommend you an interesting TV series of reportages that you can see on the Brisith channel 4. To my mind, the initiative of these U.k. reportages is inspiring and I'm always moved by the stories of people who live in less-favored areas that need help and they actually get it in the end. On this programe, you can see every week a British millionaire who wants to donate some money (usually at least 65 thousand pounds)to really make a difference. The undercover millionaire lives for a week or 2 in a less-favored area and live like them (they even have minimum "welfare" pay) and start mingling with community organizations, charities or common inhabitants. At the end of the experience, he needs to decide whom he is donating the money and he has to reveal the truth. It's so nice to see how people react when the millionaire gives them a check , you can really tell that it's real! You can see some episodes on the channel 4 webpage, the one i'm sharing the link with you now ,made me cry like a baby!

This reportages also show the amazing work many volunteers do to assist others. Another thing you can learn from the programme is how some U.k. citizens are stinky rich!! GEE!!

The apprentice final, Ireland 2009

I have been following the Irish apprentice program for the last few months every Monday. 14 candidates started to compete to get the final position for 100,000 euros annually as an apprentice for the Irish millionaire Bill Cullen. Every week different business projects were presented by the contestants and every week one contestant was fired. This program was for business addicts like me that wanted to get an insight of how people work in teams within companies where competition is fierce.

MY favourite contestants were Breffny and Lucinda Kelly. To me Lucinda should have won because she has all the skills and never criticized any of the contestants and always delivered in every task. Breffny is not made for business world, very naif but such a funny guy and a good person.

Bill was very straight forwrd with his criticism regarding the contestants I was sometimes stressed thinking houw would i handle such harsh criticism (i know i´m masochistic..)

I wasn´t fond of any of the finalists but if you make me choose Steve Rayner like BIlla said had much more integrity than Stephen which muscles didn´t let him think from time to time.., he was cold like ice!!

Please even if you are not a fan have a look at the minute 7.55 from this video, something unexpected happened at the lunch of the last project for the finalists

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7isQNht43w

I will miss watching the candidates every week!my husband met the other day Stephen so I hope to be lucky and meet any of the contestants in Dublin one day!

Signed by the box, music videos interpreted for deaf people

Happy Sunday, I only wanted to dedicate this short post to Darryl Jackson, a man that interpretes music videos for deaf people every morning in a tv video show called "signed by the box". He has 2 female co-workers but he is the one who actually has the rythm inside him. I´d love to meet him one day since I think his passion is admirable, you can really tell that he is enjoying his job. Being able to interpretate in sign language an Eminem video must be very hard due to the speed of his rap-lyrics and Darryl has actually achieved that. What a pity that the tv show is always at 7.00 a.m.. I dont really get why movies, news or even music videos for deaf people have to be either very early in the morning or very late! Deaf people also should have the right to wake up a bit later and understand what is being displayed on TV/cinema-dont you think?

I introduce you to Darryl Jackson! sorry about the quality of the video of Darryl and Rhyanna

http://videos.sellamacopla.com/informaciondecontenido.php?con=11132

y para verlo en directo junto con cualquier programa de canal sur tv:

http://www.radiotelevisionandalucia.es/tvcarta/impe/web/portada

Lipstick Jungle, the new series by the write of "Sex and the City"

I only wanted to write a few lines about the new series based on the novel by Candace Bushnell (SEx and the Cty writer). Me as an old fan of "Sex in the City", it has been a pleasure to see another book by Candace being released on tv. I have become addicted to the new series "Lipstick Jungle", you can see clearely the writer´s touch. Three women, 2 of them married (one childless and the other with 2 children) and one single. the 3 of them are succesful career women with problems in their business lives and personal ones. It´s more melodramatic than "sex and the city" and it´s not a comedy. It has the same set : New York and fashion plays also an important part. I like specially the role of Kim Raver and her young hot secret lover: Robert Buckley. Her husband should have paid more attention to her! The plot of the series may not be something new or deep but it has something appealing which makes you forget about a long stressful working day on a Monday evening!

Do you want to feel with a very aesthetic movie?" Les jeunes amants" - The Young Lovers(2021)

Year:  2021 Genre:  Romantic/Drama Critics point of view & My own:  Pages specialized in cinema reviews like IDMB give it a score of ...
